Provincial Management Services (PMS)

Provincial Management Service (PMS) is a government service, just like CSS. On January 17, 2014, Punjab was the location of this PMS. It was created in Pakistan in order to enhance the provincial bureaucracy’s service structure. Governmental employees make up the Provincial Management Service (PMS). Through a competitive exam held at the PPSC level, it was directly appointed in Grade 17.

Although the Provincial Management Service Officers have also been awarded a significant positions of postings in Punjab, the Federal Bureaucracy, particularly Pakistan Administrative Service (previously District Management Group/DMG), still controls the provincial government there and in other provinces.

Commission at provincial level, PMS Officers appointed in Scale-17 get promotion in Scale-18, Scale-19 and Scale-20 as per notified Service Rules called PMS Rules, 2004. PMS Officers get various jobs like Assistant Commissioner, Magistrate, Deputy Secretary, Section Officer, Additional Secretary, DCO, DG, Commissioner, Secretary, or many more equivalent posts of their grade.

PMS Officer plays an essential unit in the top-level bureaucracy of the province. They perform their duties well at Tehsil, District, Division, and Provincial level at important posts.
